WARMUP: To the grass. 12 SSH (one for each 2024 ECU Victory). 10 Sir Fazio. 6 Good Mornings. 10 Down-Ups.
THE THANG: At the whistleblow, 18 players tried out for NE Wake football squad. Start out with column, slalom, high knees, return regular mosey with hard cuts. Three times through the running rack.
Moved onto trivia and suicide work. A reminder that STATE has not won a conference championship since the days of President Carter. Thomas answered correctly that ECU has both the number one and number two all-time reception leaders in NCAA history.
Three suicide first round. 20 Irkens. 24 Low Slow Flutters. Second run was a kariokra there and back to the far curb.
Next was the annual fumble drill where bodies were slapping & heads banged. Not a pretty site.
Two rounds each.
After that, we had to hone our throwing and passing skills. Two times through the line defensive drill, where one had to make an interception in the flats. A drop pass = 2 Burpees. The next drill was 10 yard pass patterns. Tomahawk made the catch of the year, so we decided to cut early and perform one wind sprint.
From there, we ran a four cone sine drill as fast as you could to improve lateral pursuit ability.
Finally, we broke up into teams Purple & Gold for a revamped kick, punt, pass competition.
Team purple was able to toss the football into the target for the victory. No PATs converted.
MARY: 10 zombie crunches each side. 10 World War I.
ANNOUNCEMENTS: there are a ton. Don’t forget zinc house winery on July 26
COT: prayers of blessings for the announce pregnancy for B&E and M Nancy.
Until next summer….
