Fourteen raving madmen (and a sane, lone runner) donned glow sticks in the gloom for a techno fueled party like it’s Nineteen Ninety-Nine. Warm-up consisted of Side Straddle Hop, Good Mornings, Imperial Walkers, Moroccan Nightclubs, Mountain Climbers, the World’s Greatest Stretch, buttkickers, high knees, and carioca.

The Pax ended Warmarama at the single darkened lot on Abbott’s campus where two of Raleigh’s Finest were treated to a “Blender” inspired workout. At each of the four corners, the HIM performed 11 reps of the following in rotating fashion:

Bobby Hurleys
Mountain Climbers (in cadence)
Apolo Ohnos
“Y-pulls” (prone lat air pulldowns)

Targeting 9 total rounds for the ’99 theme, YHQ interrupted at laps 4 and 6 with equally terrible calls of “Burpee Dans” (4 lunges to 1 burpee across the lot followed by 4 lunges to 2 burpees on the way back…GROAN).

The second equally terrible call was inspired by Menthol’s mention of, “I haven’t done bear crawls in a while.” This was later clarified to be, “I haven’t heard Jamiroquai in a while,” though the damage was done. Paint the Lines in Bear Crawl position with a Hand Release Merkin at the end of each space was executed to the befuddlement of the Po-Po.

After finishing the final rounds, the Pax returned to COT for the finisher: The Godfather of Techno’s (Moby) “Flower” for smooth transitioning between planche haut and planche basse. A beatdown that keeps on giving!

Mary calls from Dumbledore, Dig Dug, and Snoopy were a welcome prelude to the 47 burpee salute. Thanks to all for the birthday wishes!
